– Project Overview –
This explainer animation was created with a partner to explain how a polaroid camera works and some of the history behind the camera. After completing the project, almost everything done by the partner was removed and replaced with all original work. All work shown is my own unless otherwise noted.

Script Writing
The first part of this project was figuring out what topic to pick and then to write a script for that topic. After debating a few topics, the polaroid camera was selected as the topic for the animation. The history of the camera as well as how the camera functions would be explained in the video. My partner wrote out the first draft of the script and then I refined it and recorded it.
Initial Storyboard
Once the script was solidified and recorded, a storyboard was created. Each partner created a storyboard so there would be more ideas to choose from. To the right is my sketched storyboard. This is the storyboard we ended up using to create our sketch animation.

Vector Storyboard
After the test animation was approved a vector storyboard was created using assets created in illustrator. Symbolic scoring was used to show the movement of each item on the screen. To help with timing the script was placed underneath the frames. Most of the vector storyboard was my own. My partner created some of the assets in illustrator.
In Progress
This is one of the earlier versions of the project. A lot of things in it were changed for the final version but it helps show just how refined the final animation became. A lot of the movements and timing is still awkward as the kinks are being worked out.
