– Project Overview –
The Sycamore Pumpkin Festival is a yearly festival held in Sycamore Illinois. The festival promotes awareness of the City of Sycamore, and provides an opportunity for DeKalb County not-for-profit organizations to participate in fund raising activities, community education and enrichment. The aim of this redesign was to create a more user friendly, and appealing website, as well as to create a responsive site that works on mobile and desktop.
– Design Process –
Before
Before the redesign the site is boxy and not responsive at all. Some of the pages have broken links and broken images. The site has almost no styling and is very bare bones.
User Profiles
To develop a successful website, the needs of the users must be evaluated. Two distinct user profiles of people who would use the site were created to guide the features and layout of the website.
Mood Board
To evoke the feeling of a pumpkin festival, a mood board was created. It features images of community, family, and fall fun. The color palette is very fall oriented, with reds, oranges, browns, and greens.
